Head constable caught while accepting bribe in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Apr 29 (UNI) The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) sleuths today caught red-handed a police head constable, attached to the Pishor Police station in Sillod tehsil of this district, while accepting a bribe of Rs 500 from a merchant.

Acting on a complaint lodged by trader Ashok Shankar Ghuge, the ACB team arrested the policeman, Uttamsingh Ratansingh Rajput, from a hotel at Sillod, while accepting a bribe from the merchant for not initiating further action in connection with a case filed against him.

An offence to this effect has been registered against the police constable, ACB sources said.
