FPM founder president Gangumei resigns
Imphal, Apr 29 (UNI) Gangumei Kamei, founder president of the Federal Party of Manipur (FPM) and now vice-president, has resigned from the party.
Former Cabinet Minister, Mr Kamei, who was instrumental in the formation of the FPM which had the maximum number of Legislators in the Opposition, did not give any reason for his resignation.
In a statement, he expressed gratitude to the people for their cooperation and said he will continue to work for them.
President of the FPM L Chandramani and leaders of the Manipur Peoples' Party (MPP) and Democratic Revolutionary Peoples' Party (DRPP) had announced to float a new regional party by merging the three parties.
Mr Kamei had also extended his support to the merger of the regional parties.
