Four faction zones to be set up in Rayalaseema districts

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, April 29(UNI)Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Mr Swaranjeet Sen today said four monitoring zones would be set up in the four districts of the faction-ridden Rayalaseema region.

Talking to newsmen after reviewing the situation in the region with the SPs of the four districts, Sen said efficient officers would be posted at sensitive areas.

He said the responsibility of picking up such officers would be completely left to the SPs of the districts.

He said police would make efforts to control faction rivalries during the ensuing panchayat polls.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had expressed his displeasure at the increasing faction violence in the Rayalaseema region and directed the DGP to effectively control it.
