Elections of JSCA to be held on May 14 in Bokaro

Jamshedpur, Apr 29 (UNI) For the first time in seven decades, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Jharkhand State Cricket Assoction will be held outside Jamshedpur on May 14 in Bokaro.

The biennial poll, which is a part of AGM, would be held at community centre, sector-2 in Bokaro steel city, a notification issued by the JSCA, the ershtwhile Bihar Cricket Association, said today.

Briefing mediapersons electoral officer, deputed by the JSCA, Amarendera Kumar Singh said the nomination for the elections is on May 7 while the withdrawl and the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on May 8 and 9 respectively.

The elections, if necessary, would be held on May 14 for the posts of President, Vice Presidents (two posts), secretary, treasurer and committee members (five), Mr Singh said.

He said about 1033 members would exercise their frachise to elect the representatives for the next two years. Separate booths would be set up for the life members, annual members and affiliated members of clubs and institutions.

When asked about the shifting of venue for AGM, the JSCA secretary B N Singh said, ''We would like to decentralise our activities and give opportunity to other cities in the state to organise meetings and elections.'' UNI BDG PC PM ND1646
