Eight soldiers killed in Nepal explosion
Kathmandu, Apr 29 (UNI) Eight soliders were killed and over half a dozen injured in an explosion in western Nepal today, media reports here said.
The soldiers were hit by the explosion while digging a defence trench at Bhairabh Prasad Battalion in Gulmi district in western Nepal, Kantipur radio quoted local security officials.
It is said that the attack has nothing to do with the Maoist rebels but occurred due to the negligence of the army personnel.
After the reinstatement of the House last week by King Gyanendra at the height of popular movement against his rule, the Maoists have declared three months unilateral ceasefire to clear the way for the declaration of Constituent Assmbly election, one of the major demands of the rebels.
