Court issues summons to Advani on defamation case by Abhishek Verm

Gurgaon, Apr 29 (UNI) A city court today issued summons to former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on a defamation case filed by NRI businessman Abhishek Verma for allegedly calling him a 'middleman' in the multi-crore Scorpene submarine deal.

Judicial Magistrate Raj Rani Gupta issued summons seeking Mr Advani's presence on July 17.

Mr Verma claimed that the veteran BJP leader had made the allegations at a press conference at his residence on March 20 and even circulated some ''fabricated'' documents to 'prove' his point.
