Chief Post Master General abused by MLA in Bihar
Patna, Apr 29 (UNI) The employees of Patna main post office today went on a strike to protest the alleged manhandling of the Chief Post Master General (CPMG) by a legislator of Bihar assembly.
Police said Khurshid Alam, MLA and his supporter Abdul Barik forcibly entered into the room of CPMG S P Singh and allegedly misbehaved with him after the later refused to oblige them to withdraw transfer orders of some postal employees.
They trespassed the room when the CPMG was holding a confidential meeting with his officials, the police said.
The CPMG lodged an FIR alleging criminal intimidation on him by the MLA and his supporter.
Agitated over the incident, the employees struck work, paralysing the functioning of the main post office today. The employees later called off their strike at 1530 hours considering the suffering of the common people after being persuaded by the CPMG.
