BJP Delhi chief Harshvardhan demands white paper on power situatio
New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Criticising the Delhi government over the present power crisis in the capital, the Delhi BJP today demanded Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to issue a white paper on the power situation.
In a statement issued here, Mr Harshvardhan said,''while on the one hand, states like UP and Punjab are drawing power at higher rates from the Northern Grid disregarding the direction of the Central electricity Authority for supplying power to its citizens, the negligent and anti-people Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is not taking action to look after the dilapidated power generation plants.'' ''At the time of privatising the power distribution system of Delhi on July 1, 2002, the Chief Minister had promised the people of Delhi cheap, good quality and uninterrupted power. These assurances have been forgotten. Now, six to 12 hours load shedding is being done daily and the government is sitting idle,''he said.
