Airmen open account defeating TFA 1-0

Bangalore, Apr 29 (UNI) Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HAL) defeated fancied Tata Football Academy (TFA) 1-0 in the Final Round of the Second Division ONGC Cup National Football League here today.

The all important goal came from striker Raju at the 27th minute.

The Airmen could have increased their lead, but for the superb skill displayed by TFA custodian Arindam Bhatacharya more than once in protecting the fort.

Though TFA tried its best, especially in the second half for an equaliser, they were unable to break the defence wall put by HAL.

HAL custodian Gumpe Rime also thwarted their attempts.

The winners, who had suffered defeat at the hands of Goan outfit Churchill Brothers in the first encounter, opened their account collecting full three points.

Though TFA started its campaign on a winning note, defeating Army XI, it could not succeed in maintaining the tempo. It had three points to its credit from two outings.
