238 shops sealed on 23rd day, traders to launch sangharsh yatra

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Following the Supreme Court deferring to May 5 hearing of the Centre's plea for extension of time for sealing of shops in Delhi, traders declared a sangharsh rally from May 4 to May 11 and the MCD today sealed 238 shops on 23rd day. Demanding the government to take firm action on bringing a legislation in the next session of Parliament to save traders from the clutches of sealing, the traders declared to launch a sangharsh rally which will continue till May 11.

Meanwhile, the sealing operation by the MCD continued as usual with 238 shops being put to seal earlier in the day. At the same time, 123 shops were sealed between 1700 and 2000 hrs yesterday.

The MCD also desealed 47 shops today while 29 shops were desealed between 1700 to 2000 hrs yesterday.

With today's sealing a total of 9061 shops in the residential areas have been sealed since the operation began on March 29.

Sealing action has already been completed in the city area.
