The monopoly product used optical screen technology enhancing the pixel quality of the image to give high constract as against the normal projection screens.
''We plan to open its manufacturing facility if the annual demand crosses 5000 units in India which is a resurging market for the high-end products particularly in the IT industry and corporate sector,'' says Area Sales Manager from Denmark Mr.Anjum Parwaiz.
Interacting with mediapersons in connection with the launch of the product through Actis Technologies Private Limited, India's leading audio visual and environment control solutions specialist and product distributor, Mr Parwaiz said he expects an annual turnover of 500 to 1000 units in India initially.
With globalisation and economic boom and growth in IT and corporate sector, the demand for audio visual products had been witnessing phenominal growth over the years, particularly for the monopoly and high-tech products like the supernova screens, he said.
It was also for the first time that Epson India launched its smallest multimedia wireless projector followed by Samsung's professional plasma monitor from a single platform in the city today.
The future audio-visual technology products for launch in India include pocket projectors of the size of a portable digital assistant (PDA), video conferencing on mobile phones and desk tops, audio visual integration on ethernet, Internet Protocol based AV products and large format LCD/Plasma display screens, according to Manmohan Gupta, MD of Actis Technologies.
It hopes to increase its market share from the existing 10 per cent as against a Rs 40 crore turnover witnessed in the last fiscal.
It was poised to witness 25 to 30 per cent growth in the AV equipment sector in the next year. The size of the AVindustry was Rs 500 crore last fiscal.
The Actis had strategic partnership with 30 global manufacturers of the AV products and 500 national partners with about 700 customer base including Reliance industries, L&T, OCFAI, Satyam, Cipla, Jet Airways and Asian Paints.
The AV industry could have witnessed further growth had it been treated as an IT industry even as 40 to 50 per cent of the market was in the hands of the unorganised industry, according to EPSON India's General Manager(Business Products) N Sambamoorthi.
The manufacturers had already approached the Centre to play a level playing field by treating the AV industry on par with the IT sector so that it reduced the current 40 per cent duty on the organised sector to encourage the corporate and other bodies to buy the products.
The AV products are useful for the IT, corporate and hotel industry besides others for making good presentations on the screens.
