Mangalore, Apr 27 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge today predicted that the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) led by Oomen Chandy in Kerala would win the assembly elections with a clear majority and retain power.

Talking to reporters, Mr Kharge, who was here after addressing election rallies in various parts of Kerala, said the economic policies adopted by the Chandy government was well received in that state and it would help the UDF obtain a clear majority in the elections.

He alleged that during the Left Democratic Front rule, development had taken a backseat in Kerala and its wrong policies had stopped inflow of investments into the state.

To a question, Mr Kharge said the BJP, which was trying to make its presence felt in Kerala, would not even win a single seat due to its ''communal'' policies.
