PCB discusses outstanding 1996 world cup revenues with Mani

Lahore, Apr 27 (UNI) The Pakistan Cricket Board are yet to receive from India long overdues to the tune of 1.9 million dollar from the joint organisation of the 1996 World Cup and the authorities here have brought up the issue to ICC president Ehsan Mani's notice.

PCB's director of cricket operations Saleem Altaf confirmed that the outstanding payment was one particular issue discussed with Mr Mani here on Monday.

''We've discussed the matter with Mani as we are trying to speed up the process of settling the dues with the Indian board and they want certain documents/records from us whose copies are with the ICC chief,'' Altaf was quoted as saying by The News.

According to PCB sources some of these documents had gone missing from the PCB files after which they had now sought the assistance of Mani who was closely involved with both boards in the organisation of the 1996 World Cup.

''The money is long overdue and we would like to use it for the development purposes in our future scheme of plans for cricket in Pakistan,'' he said.

India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka had jointly held the hugely successful 1996 World Cup with the television rights sold for a record sum of around 10 million dollars to WorldTel.
