Nestle India Q1 net up 13.52 pc to Rs 88.61 crore
Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) Nestle India Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 88.61 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 78.05 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year, a rise of 13.52 per cent.
The company said its total income has increased from Rs 620.38 crore in Q1 FY 2005 to Rs 680.96 crore for Q1 FY 2006.
Commenting on the quarter the company's Chairman and Managing Director Martial Rolland said, ''Our performance in the first quarter of the year has been satisfactory. We are well placed to benefit from the sustained economic expansion in India by leveraging our privileged access, to the Nestle groups continuous research on food for various consumer segments, expertise in science based nutrition, as also the large reservoir of best practices available for countries in different phases of economic development.''
