Seoul, Apr 27 (UNI) Seasoned pro Amandeep Johl's opening round of thee-under 69 made him the pick of the Indian players on day one, besides earning him a share of the eighth place, while talented Shiv Kapur stuttered to a four-over 76 in the 600,000 dollar GS Caltex Maekyung Open here today.

Local favourite Lee Sun, a born deaf, fired a blemish free five-under 67 for the joint first round lead with compatriots Suk Jong-ryul and Lee In-woo.

While Johl sits pretty at tied eighth, Kolkata pro Rahil Gangjee's one-under 71 saw him at tied 32nd, one stroke ahead of compatriot Gaurav Ghei (tied 52), followed by Harmeet Kahlon at tied 77th after one-over 73.

Shiv again fell victim to his opening round woes and went four-over 76 to finish a poor tied 129th.
