Haryana to develop 3 new townships in NCR
Chandigarh, April 27 (UNI) Haryana is planning to develop three townships near Delhi to ease the congestion of the National Capital Region (NCR).
A survey is being conducted by the NCR authorities to identify the areas for setting up of these cities, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said while interacting with an NRI delegation from the US. The members of the delegation, headed by Mr G A Charan Reddy, are engaged in quality real estate development in the US.
The Sampla region in Rohtak district was an ideal place for setting up such a township keeping in view its proximity with Delhi, he said.
About 4000 acres of land had been identified near Sampla for setting up a new township.
The Chief Minister also informed the delegation that the 135 km long express highway constructed from Kundli to Palwal will open new avenues of employment.
He said Haryana was the only state which was surrounded by the national capital Delhi from three sides. As many as 30,000 people commute daily from Rohtak to Delhi in connection with service or other business activities.
He said Bahadurgarh town was already humming with industrial activities and would soon become a hub of industries.
The other NRI delegates included Mr Kenneth Lawrence, Mr Chowdary Charlie Yalamanchili, Mr Ashish Anand and Mr M K Chopra.
