Cong to go on appeal on HC clearing Naidu of misuse of power

Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI)Adhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Dr K Keshava Rao today said the party would appeal to Supreme Court on the High Court verdict clearing former Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu of charges of misuse of power in sanctioning land to IMG Bharata during his tenure on the ground that it was a collective decision of the cabinet.

Talking to news persons here he said he differed with the opinion that cabinet decisions should not be questioned.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court had struck down a petition by former Congress legislator Palvai Govardhan Reddy yesterday in which he contended that Chandrababu Naidu had allotted valuable government land at a throw away price to persons known to him.

The Court while stating that the decision to allot land to "IMG Bharata" was taken by the state cabinet, also observed that the petitioner had failed to prove that Mr Naidu gained any benefit from the allotment of land.
