Brisk trading with Bangladesh on polling day in Bengal
Barasat, Apr 27 (UNI) Setting aside apprehension of intrusion by Bangladeshi national to take part in West Bengal's elections today, two international corridors with the neighbouring country were kept open in North 24 Parganas to carry on border trading.
People of both sides across the border of Petrapole and Gojadhanga had brisk business without any hindrance, district Magistrate Monoj Pant told UNI today.
The district authorities had earlier alerted the BSF and state police to maintain strict surveillance against any intrusion of unwanted element during polling in the district.
