Woman over ground activist of HM arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 26 (UNI) Security forces arrested a woman over ground activist of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in north Kashmir.

A defence ministry spokesman said troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation yesterday arrested Dilshada Bano alongwith one wireless set at Rajpora.

He said she was working for HM Batallion Commander Kafil alias Sonsheikh, active in Handwara and other areas in the frontier district of Kupwara.

The spokesman said her suspicious behaviour led the security forces to examine her movements closely. On being questioned, she accepted that she was working for Kafil. On further questioning by Mahila Police, she said she was forced to work and provide assistance to Kafil and his associates.

During the last fortnight troops of Rashtriya Rifles had arrested two more over ground workers in the area, believed to be close to the same militant commander.
