Three positives emerge on day 5 on Mahajan's health

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) Even as the condition of senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan continued to be critical but stable on the fifth day, Hindjua hospital, where he is under treatment, his son Rahul and party president Rajnath Singh sounded positive observations today.

Hospital spokesman Dr Anupam Verma said reducing the dose of medicine to control the blood pressure of 56-year-old Mahajan is '' a postive indication.'' His son Rahul said when the effect of sedation is less and his father takes a deep breath, he can hear the sound of his name when called. In this state '' my father also tries to touch the finger (of the person) when placed on his hand.'' But at the same time, Rahul said '' It is my personal observation... whether it has any medical meaning I do not know.'' The son informally shared his observations with the media after seeing off Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata at the hospital this evening.

Earlier, BJP president Rajnath Singh said '' Mr Mahajan (today) showed some slight movement and I am confident of his recovery.'' He shared his observation with the media after his third visit to the hospital since Saturday when Mahajan was admitted with grievous gunshot wounds, fired at him allegedly by his younger brother Pravin.
