Strong interest among Uzbeks for Indian films and music
Tashkent, Apr 26 (UNI) Enthused over the craze among Uzbeks for Indian movies and music, Uzbek television channels are regularly telecasting Indian films dubbed in the country's language to make a quick buck.
One television channel is currently doing a re-telecast of the popular Hindi serial 'Ramayan', based on the life of Lord Rama. The Uzbek Radio recently completed 40 years of Hindi broadcasting.
The Uzbek TV4 channel has been telecasting a weekly programme of 25 minutes dedicated to Indian themes. It has been downloading the contents of this programme from Doordarshan channels with the help of equipment gifted by India.
