RBI allows FIIs to invest in Vijaya Bank
Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India today allowed further purchases of equity shares of Vijaya Bank, on behalf of foreign institutional investors (FIIs), non-resident Indians (NRIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs).
The RBI, in its notification said the investment could be done through stock exchanges in India under portfolio investment scheme (PIS) and would be allowed without prior clearance of the Central bank.
The foreign share holdings in Vijaya Bank have gone down below the limit of 18 per cent of its paid-up capital, RBI said.
