Criminals caught fleeing with bank money
Jehanabad, Apr 26 (UNI) In broad daylight, three motorcycle borne criminals looted Rs 5.20 lakh being carried to the Imamgang branch of the Punjab National Bank on the Jehanabad-Arwal road under Kinjar police station area in Arwal district today.
The cash was, however, later recovered.
Official sources said the criminals intercepted a van carrying the cash and snatched the bag from the cashier at gunpoint. The driver of the van, who had a mobile phone with him rang up the staff of the bank informing them that three motorcycle borne criminals were speeding away towards Imamganj.
When the criminals reached Imamganj, they were greeted with lathi blows by an agitated mob resulting in serious injuries to two of them.
The cash was recovered by the local residents and handed over to the police.
