Chancery to build business hotels across the country

Bangalore, Apr 26 (UNI) The city-based Chancery Group of hotels is all set to make its presence felt in a big way in the hospitality industry by launching several projects across the country.

Informing this to reporters here at the launch of one such projects, 'Chancery Pavilion,' in the city today, Group President Tapan Chakraborty said there were plans to build similar five-star business hotels in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Cochin. The project proposals were at various stages, he added.

Stating that the Group had invested over Rs 120 crore in the Bangalore project, he said the Chancery Pavilion, located in the heart of the city, would offer best facilities and services to customers on both business and leisure travel.

Mr Chakraborty said the Chancery Pavilion was the Group's second project in the city and it proposed to build one more hotel near the International Airport, coming up 35 km from the city. The project would become a reality by 2008, he added.

Asked about its customer profile, he said Bangalore stood first in receiving foreign business travellers, registering over 51 per cent occupancy in big hotels and exuded confidence that the Group's new project here would be able to achieve break-even within the next five years as against the normal industry standard of seven to eight years due to the boom being witnessed in the hospitality industry in the city.

He said the hotel had 234 tastefully designed extra large well-equipped designer rooms and suites that added to its elegance and ambience. It also offered a wide range of rooms, including Presidential suite, Theme rooms, Executive suites and Superior rooms, two business floors called Club Pavilion.

He said the hotel also offered 24-hour check-in and check-out service. Its 24/7 food and beverages outlets offered a variety of cuisines and beverages to cater to its customers.

It also offered seven elegant spaces for meetings, conferences and get-togethers, he added.
