5 antique idols estimated at Rs 50 lakh stolen
Mahoba, Apr 26 (UNI) Burglars decamped with five antique idols estimated worth Rs 50 lakh in the international market from an ancient temple in Kulpahad town here.
Police today said the stolen antiques included three 'ashtadhatu' and two stone idols.
The idols carried images of Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesh, Lord Krishna and Radha.
The heist was discovered this morning, when devotees came to the temple for offering prayers. The temple locks were found broken.
Meanwhile, the priest claimed that the idols were intact till last night, when he locked the temple door.
The Kishore Ju Maharaj temple is said to be 500 yrs old.
A case had been registered.
