Wipro and Israel Co to jointly market physical mgt solutions
Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Bangalore-based Wipro Infotech and RiT Technologies of Israel have inked a pact to jointly market the latter's intelligent physical layer management solutions (IPLMS) - PatchView in the Indian market.
RiT's regional sales director (Asia-Pacific) David Shalts told mediapersons here today that IPLMS is for medium-to-large enterprises to maximise performance and reduce the cost-of-ownership of mission-critical networks, within their tight operating budgets.
IPLMS can prove useful for large office buildings requiring new cabling, organisations that have more than 300 network users, multiple remote sites and corporate data centres, Mr Shalts said.
''Customers will now have the ability to control their physical network infrastructure for maximum utilisation, enhanced up-time and physical safeguarding of data and property,'' he said.
PatchView contributes to management control and efficiency to the physical layer, such as providing real-time information on the status of connections at the wiring closet. ''It puts a powerful physical-layer management tool at the network administrator's fingertips,'' he said.
RiT also has a product - Smart Review - which can be used for existing organisations, he said.
''There is now a growing demand in the Indian marketplace for value-added solutions and we are confident of making a mark here,'' Mr Shalts said.
RiT already has clients like Reuters, Fujitsu, Diageo, Invesco, ING Barings and Old Mutual.
Wipro Infotech general manager (networking solutions) Vikas Srivastava said ''RiT will be the technology-provider while we will enable that technology for customers.'' The biggest market segments for this product would be the ITES, data centres and banking and financial sectors, he added.
