Rs. one lakh to each bereaved family
Aurangabad, Apr 25 (UNI) The Bihar government today announced an exgratia payment of Rs. one lakh to each of the bereaved families of six people, who were killed in an extremist attack in the state yesterday.
A government job would also be given to an eligible member of each family, official sources said.
The ultras last night raided Rat Debjara village in Madanpur police station area of the district and killed six people including one Ashok Kumar Singh, who was a candidate for post of district board chairman in the coming Panchayat elections.
Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, state revenue and Land Reforms Minister Ramnath Thakur and Inspector General of Police (Patna zone) Rajbardhan Sharma today visited the scene of crime.
Mr Modi asked the authorities concerned to launch combing operation against the extremists in Aurangabad and its adjoining districts.
Police Superintendent of Aurangabad Sushil Khopde said the officer-in-charge of Madanpur police station had been asked to report to Civil Lines police station. He said the police pickets would be set up at Deojara and Aajan villages to combat the ultras. Meanwhile, Mr Modi told UNI in Patna that a camp would be set up tomorrow for issuing arms licenses to a group of five people each of Debjara and adjoining villages.
Condemning the incident, Mr Modi described the killing as very shameful act.
