Nepal Maoists reject king's address
KATHMANDU, Apr 25 : Nepal's Maoist rebels today rejected the king's decision to reinstate parliament, said his speech failed to address the demands of protesters and announced a blockade of Kathmandu and district capitals.
''This royal proclamation is a sham and a conspiracy against the Nepali people,'' Maoist leader Prachanda said in a statement. ''Our party firmly rejects this.'' Prachanda called on the Nepali people to continue peaceful street protests until elections were called for a special assembly to write a new constitution.
