Muslims organise prayers for Mahajan's health
New Delhi, Apr 25: A large number of people from the Muslim community turned up to pray for the recovery of senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan who was critically shot at by his younger brother three days back.
For the first time since the party's inception in 1980, its headquarters reverberated with reading of verses from Quran.
The Qurankhwani was organised to pray for the speedy recovery of Mr Mahajan.
The prayers were organised by Mr Tanvir Haider Usmani, president of the BJP's Minority Morcha and Diwan Syed Ali Moosa Nizami, Sajjadanishin Dargah of Hasrat Nizammuddin Auliya.
Among those who attended were Maulana Shakil Raza, Mr Nisar Ahmad Qureshi, Mohammad Irfan, Mr I.A. Khan, Mr Akram Hashmi, Mr Imran Ismail, Mohammad Kashim Malik, Mr Ashikien Qureshi and Mohammad Rashid, BJP senior leader J.P. Mathur, party spokesman Prakash Javadekar Mr Shyam Jaju and Mr Virendra Jual.
