India welcomes king's decision to revive parliament
Berlin, Apr 25: Observing that Nepal King Gyanendra has finally seen the errors in his ways, India tonight welcomed his decision to revive parliament and hoped that an interim government would be in place in the Himalayan kingdom in a day or two.
Reacting to the king's broadcast, National Security Advisor M K Naryanan said he hoped all the necessary steps had been taken by Nepal for the restoration of multi-party democracy.
He said though the king has not specified under what rule he has revived parliament the first reaction of political parties in Nepal was positive. There would be celebrations and the parties would announce their reaction to the king's announcement tomorrow, he added.
