Hyderabad, Apr 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Police Officers' Association today met State Home Minister K Jana Reddy and expressed anguish over news reports, in which the AP High Court, while hearing a case called the police 'licensed goondas'.

They sought his initiative on behalf of the government to draw the attention of the High Court to their displeasure.

Association President V Anantha Ramulu and General Secretary K V Ram Narsimha Reddy and other office bearers submitted a memorandum.

The Association said in its memorandum the Courts were quite often ridiculing the police. Such damaging remarks not only deeply hurt them but their entire families and demoralised the force, they added.

They said they had immense faith in the judiciary and would not like to justify all their colleagues' actions. Association members explained that they always obeyed the directions of the courts, if they committed mistakes while discharging their duties.

The association members promised to rededicate themselves as disciplined soldiers to serve the people better by maintaining law and order to everyone's utmost satisfaction.
