CM welcomes Reliance industries offer to invest in HP
Shimla, Apr 24 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today welcomed Reliance Industries offer to participate in the modernization of agriculture and horticulture sectors, saying the partnership will boost farming activities and strengthen the agro-economy of the state.
Majority of the state's people were dependent on agriculture and horticulture and was contributing to the state's economy, he said, while talking to the delegation of Reliance Industries.
The Reliance delegation was headed by Vineet Malaviya, Vice President, Agri-Business, Rohit Jain and Rohit Purl, on called on him here today with a number of proposals for partnering in different sectors in the state.
Mr Singh said the association would not only boost the state's economy but would also be of help small and marginal farmers of the state.
High quality agriculture and horticulture infrastructure was necessary to export maximum produce and earn precious financial resources for the state and the country, he said.
Welcoming private investment in creating necessary infrastructure in the state, he said people also need to be educated about producing quality product, which could fetch them best returns.
