Vijayakanth lodges complaint on removal of party flags
Chennai, Apr 23 (UNI) Actor-turned-politician and founder President of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) A Vijayakanth today lodged a complaint to the police here that the party's flags and festoons were being removed by other polictical parties in the city.
Taking a break from hectic campaigning for the May 8 assembly polls in the city, the actor met the new City Police Commissioner Letika Saran and handed over a complaint to her in this regard. The Commissioner assured him that she would take suitable action as per election norms.
Talking to newspersons later, Mr Vijaykanth said his party workers had complained about the happenings wherever he campaigned.
He said DMDK erected flags and festoons as per the norms prescribed by the Election Commission.
He said the response for the party was impressive and they would win in all the 234 assembly constituencies.
"Opinion polls do not reflect the popularity of political parties.
