Three die, sixteen injured in a road mishap

Bhavnagar, Apr 23 (UNI) Three persons, including a boy and girl, were killed while 16 others sustained injuries, two of them seriously, when a private luxury bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Trapaj village here this morning.

The incident took place at 0700 hours when the private luxury bus, plying between Surat-Rajula, collided head-on with a speeding cement-laden truck, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Nikunj Jivraj Valia (7), Gopi Bhikhabhai Mehta (13) and Balabhai Govindbhai Fumar (35).

Earlier, all the 16 injured were admitted to the Civil hospital in nearby Talaja town. But, later five seriously injured were shifted to the Civil hospital at Bhavnagar, where the condition of two was stated to be critical, police said.

The drivers of both vehicles escaped with minor injuries.

Police has registered a case and further investigations were on.
