TDP activists arrested for attempting to obstruct CM
Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh Apr 23 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) former Hindupur MP Parthasarathy, TDP leader Nimmala Kistappa and several party activists were arrested when they tried to resort to demonstration during Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's mass contact programme Praja Patham' in this district today.
Mr Parthasarathy, Mr Kistappa, TDP supporters and workers were to stage a rally from Hindupur to Sriranga Rajupalle village, where Dr Reddy was supposed to tour. They were, however, arrested at Hindupur and later released.
Talking to newspersons here the TDP activists said they wanted to protest before the Chief Minister in connection with the murders of TDP leaders and workers in this district.
