Swamy to host tea party' to topple UPA Govt

Chennai, Apr 23 (UNI) Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy said here today he was working on hosting another ''tea party'' soon after the five state Assembly elections, to topple the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Swamy said the UPA Government was growing weak by the day following its failure in all respects and the proposed tea party would definitely attain success.

He will hold talks with people like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh and other like minded leaders shortly, he said.

Dr Swamy envisioned a definite change in national political scenario soon after the outcome of the five state Assembly elections and predicted an alternative government at the Centre.

Referring to the Friday's incidents at Rae Bareli and Lucknow where he allegedly manhandled by a section of Congressmen and his car damaged, Dr Swamy said he had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission seeking suitable action against the erring partymen.

He said if he did not get any reply from the EC, he would file a election petition after the polls were over.

The Janata Party Leader also demanded an apology from Congress President Sonia Gandhi for the incidents and urged the EC to cancel the Lok Sabha by-elections to Rae Bareli as the present situation was not conducive and hold them some time in June next by deploying the Central forces to ensure free and fair polls there.
