Police inspector among five cops suspended in Meher murder case
Lucknow, April 23 (UNI) An inspector is among five police personnel of Lucknow Police who have been suspended for allegedly failing to nab the main accused in the high profile February 28 Meher Bhargava murder case.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Pandey said here today inspector of Hazratganj police station D K Rai and four sub-inspectors Devesh Shukla, Satish Kumar, S S Rathore and Bhanu Pratap Singh were suspended late last night with immediate effect for failing to nab Sachin Pahari, the main accused of the murder case, who was still at large.
With this decision, a total of seven police personnel have been suspended in connection with the case, Earlier, Investigating Officer Dinesh Chandra Dubey and sub-inspector K M Rao were suspended for laxity in the case.
Ms Bhargava, the wife of Congress leader Luv Bhargava was shot at and injured in the heart of Uttar Pradesh capital on February 28.
She breathed last at a private hospital in New Delhi last month.
