Jharkhand govt firms to curb Maoists: Mahato
Dumka, Apr 23 (UNI) Jharkhand home minister Sudeh Mahato has said the police department was being mordernised with anti-mine vehicles and sophisticated weaponry to curb CPI(Maoist) activity in the state.
Talking to newspersonsmen here last evening, Mr Mahato said the government was taking all measures to contain insurgency and beefed up monitoring in the extremsists affected areas.
As a measure, he said the police department was being modernised and additional 157 new police stations being opened, provided anti-mine vehicles and sophisticated weapons to effectively counter the extremists in the state.
