Israel kills Palestinian in Bethlehem-medics

BETHLEHEM, West Bank, Apr 23 (Reuters) Israeli security forces shot dead a Palestinian in the West Bank city of Bethlehem today, Palestinian medics said.

Palestinian security sources said the dead man was a member of the Palestinian security forces.

They said Israeli forces shot at a Palestinian car carrying three people, killing the one person and arresting two others.

The Israeli army confirmed the incident in Bethlehem, which lies near Jerusalem. A spokeswoman said Israeli forces had fired on a vehicle carrying wanted men after it did not stop.
