HM District Commander killed in encounter

Bhaderwah, Apr 23 (UNI) A district area commander of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in an encounter with security forces in village Shireskhi, 15 km from here last night.

Police sources told UNI, troops of Rashtriya Rifles and police, on a tip off, launched a joint operation in the forest of adjoining village of Shirekhi. The militant opened indiscriminate fire at the security party. The fire was returned in which the militant, indentified as Jubair Ahmed a district commander of HM, was killed.

One AK rifle, one magazine and 30 rounds were seized from the slain militant.
