Five killed, nine hurt in road mishap

Jalna, Maharashtra, Apr 23 (UNI) Five people, including four women died on the spot and nine others sustained serious injuries, when the jeep in which they were travelling turned turtle on Jafferabad-Tembhurni road in the district late last night.

According to police sources, the victims, members of a marriage party travelling in the jeep were on their way back after attending a marriage ceremony in Buladana district, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The deseased identified as Santabai Pawar(50), Chandrabhagabai Janjal(45) Gayabai Bhopale(40), Manisha Savade(12) died on the spot while bridgegroom's father Ekanath Mhaske (75), succumbed to injuries after being rushed to the Jalna civil hospital.

The injured have been admitted to Jalna and Temburni hospitals, the sources said.

The Tembhurni police have registered case of negligent driving against the jeep driver Bhanudas Bhonde.
