Debate soon on exit polls relevance : Ravi
Thrissur, Kerala Apr 23 (UNI) Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today said a nationwide opinion would soon be sought on whether exit polls should be allowed in a state where elections are held in several stages.
Talking to newspersons here he said a wide-ranging discussions would be held on the matter throughout the country on this issue.
Mr Ravi also termed as ''baseless'', the statement of senior CPI leaders D Raja and A B Bardhan that the Congress was taking decisions unilaterally on economic and foreign policies, without consulting the UPA's Common Minimum Programme(CMP) Committee.
Regarding elections in Kerala, he said the UDF would win at least in 32 seats in the first phase of polling for 59 constituencies held yesterday.
He said according to his party's assessment, the UDF would win seven seats each in Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam, five each in Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta and three in Idukki.
