Complaint aganist Mehbooba Mufti lodged in Srinagar

Jammu, Apr 23 (UNI) The Jammu and kashmir Janata Party has lodged a complaint against the People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti with the police, apprehending her links with the militant organisations in wake of her recent public speaches.

Party state president Som Nath Dabgotra, in a statement issued here today, said a complaint against Ms Mufti was lodged at Kothi Bagh police station in Srinagar.

He said the PDP president, in an address at a public gathering at Sher-e-Kashmir Park on April 7 and elsewhere in the Valley, had made seditious statements, besides terming ''terrorists'' the ''martyrs''.

According to the complaint made to the police, Mr Dabgotra said the PDP leader even takes pride in calling'' most wanted terrorist Syed Salah-ud-Din'', who has taken refuge in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as her ''godfather'' and that the PDP has inherited its symbol -- 'pen and inkpot' -- from him.

The complaint alleged Ms Mufti's links with the militant organisations.

Stating that such statements itself amount to a cognizable offence, Janata Party leader urged the police to register an FIR against Ms Mufti.
