Chittagong, Apr 23 (UNI) Even a nasty head-injury could not prevent Michael Clarke from playing the first Australia-Bangladesh ODI and the 25-year-old showed tremendous heart entering the ground today with 13 stiches after a freak accident at the team's hotel pool.

After a training session last evening, Clarke slipped while entering a swimming pool to come out in a pool of blood at the Peninsula Hotel, according to media reports.

However, the accident proved to be no deterrent and the player was back in action, despite a bandaged head, in the first ODI this morning.
