BJP performs 'havan' in Varanasi for Mahajan's recovery

Varanasi, Apr 23 (UNI) BJP workers in this holy city are performing havan and special prayers to Lord Shiva -- presiding deity of the city --for speedy recovery of party general secretary Pramod Mahajan, battling for life at a Mumbai hospital.

Local BJP leader Mahendra Pandey said here today that party workers have performed special 'havans' in the Hanuman temple at Assi Ghat, besides performing a special 'jalabhishek' at the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Mr Pandey said that the rituals symbolising special prayers for Mr Mahajan's recovery, were also performed at other temples across the city of temples today.
