'American Blend' to be screened twice at Newport Beach Film Fest

Mumbai, Apr 23 (UNI) 'American Blend', a 100-minute feature film exploring the trials and tribulations of a part-Indian-part-American family living in Los Angeles, will be screened twice as part of the Newport Beach Film Festival in California.

The screenings will be held on April 26 and 27, a release issued here, today said.

The film is written and directed by Varun Khanna, whose first film, 'Beyond Honor' was hailed by Daily Variety as ''a landmark film on the Indie landscape''. Khanna garnered the 'Best Writer/Director/Achievement Filmmaker Award' for 'American Blend' at the recently concluded 2006 Riverside International Film Festival.

It was critically acclaimed at the MAMI too.

It is produced under the banner of White Stripes Entertainment Ltd.

Producer-Krishna Datla and line producer-Vishwaas Paandya.

executive producer of the film was D Vasant Kumar, associate producer was Anup Desai. Music of the film is composed by Abu Malik and choreography is by Amrapali Ambegaonkar.

Filmed on location in Los Angeles, 'American Blend' is a music and dance celebration of a cross-cultural Indian-centric immigrant family living in Los Angeles, California. It stars Anupam Kher, Dee Wallace Stone (of 'ET' and '10' fame), Ranjit Chowdhary, David Oyelowo, Kristin Erickson, Sunkrish Bala, Amita Balla and Ruben Garfias.
