Advani praises Modi

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 23 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani has lavished praises on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for ''working honestly and achieving astonishing results'' despite severe criticism against him.

Addressing a public meeting here yesterday, Mr Advani said several attempts had been made to defame Mr Modi. However, he had done a brilliant task in Gujarat to establish a responsive administration, he said.

Mr Advani said he embarked on his Bharat Suraksha Yatra from Rajkot in Gujarat. He said he was surprised by the tremendous welcome he received in Gujarat.

Likewise, he said, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh was doing a good job.
