'Zeharkhuran' arrested with sedatives, cash

Kanpur, Apr 22 (UNI) A 'Zeharkhuran' was arrested possessing Rs 42,000 cash and 100 gm sedatives at the Kanpur Central railway station here late last night, Railway police today said.

A drug-and-rob gang had administered intoxicants to a few passengers of Amrapali Express yesterday.

On their arrival at Kanpur, the victims were taken to hospital and discharged after medication.

However, one of the victims recognised the accused roaming on the Railway platform.

He was immediately arrested and identified as Sheikh Mohd of Kishanganj, Bihar. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime and disclosed names of his syndicate members.

Of late, drug-and-rob cases have become routine on Delhi-Howrah route.
