Three live grenades found in Srinagar city

Srinagar, Apr 22 (UNI) Panic gripped Srinagar after three live grenades were found at three different crowded places, official sources said.

They said two live grenades were found at two different places at crowded general bus stand last evening. However, bomb disposal squad was immediately rushed and the pedestrains, passengers and shopkeepers were taken to safer places.

Both the grenades were later defused, sources said.

The third grenade was found in the Khanyar area of the down town city which was also defused, sources added.

It may be recalled that about seven grenades rocked the city last Friday in which five persons were killed and more than 40 others, including ten security personnel wounded. However, police and army claimed to have arrested all the militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) responsible for these blasts.
