Storm claim six in Arunachal

Itanagar, Apr 22 (UNI) The cyclonic storm that hit Bordumsa sub-division under Arunachal's Changlang district on April 12 and 14 has claimed six people till now and left three severely injured.

A delayed official report here today said the cyclone also damaged private and government property worth lakhs of rupees.

The district administration and all other government departments were working to restore normalcy, the report informed, adding the assessment board constituted immediately after the catastrophe for overall assessment of the damages, has put the figure of estimated loss at over ten lakh.

However, the damages caused to private property and livestock were yet to be estimated by the board, the report added.

Meanwhile, the state unit of BJP today demanded the state government to grant necessary compensation to the victims.
